What is Expand North Star?
GITEX Global is the big technology show at Dubai World Trade Centre. Expand North Star is its start-up event, held at the same time at Dubai Harbour. 2025 is its tenth edition, and the organisers expect more than 2,000 start-ups and 1,200 investors from 180 countries.
It will be our second GITEX of the year. In May we went to GITEX Europe in Berlin with the UAE delegation.
Why we're on the Sheraa pavilion
Sheraa, the Sharjah Entrepreneurship Center, brings a select group of Sharjah start-ups to GITEX every year. We’re proud to be one of them in 2025.
It’s also the latest chapter in a long partnership. Sheraa hosted the Sharjah chapter of Code Battle, our free inter-school hackathon, in November 2022. A month later we ran CodeNova, a free coding championship for kids, at the Sharjah Entrepreneurship Festival, which Sheraa organises. In October 2023, Sheraa hosted Code Battle’s Sharjah chapter again, on the way to the 2023 national final.
What you'll see on our stand
We’ll be showing how iCodejr helps children aged 5–18 learn coding, AI and robotics, from first blocks in Scratch to Python, game design and real robotics projects. Every class is live, online and one-to-one, with the same instructor each week, so children learn at their own pace.
Why it matters for parents
Expand North Star is a show for investors and fast-growing tech companies. Sharing a pavilion with Sharjah’s best start-ups shows that teaching children to code is part of the UAE’s tech future, not a side subject. The UAE has announced plans to teach AI as a subject (KG to Grade 12), and children who start coding now will be ready when it reaches their timetable.

Sheraa has announced the start-ups it showcased at GITEX Global and Expand North Star 2025. iCodejr was one of 14, and one of 10 on the Sheraa pavilion at Expand North Star. The release describes iCodejr as an online academy that teaches coding to children and teenagers, in a way that mixes learning with fun.
