If your child has ever practised a presentation for a school project, you’ll know how nerve-racking a pitch can be. Now imagine pitching to a room of investors at one of the biggest startup events in the Middle East. That’s what’s next for iCodejr.

iCodejr will be at Web Summit Qatar 2025 in Doha from 23 to 26 February, as a startup in Web Summit’s ALPHA programme. And we’ve been selected among an exclusive group of startups to pitch in PITCH, Web Summit Qatar’s startup competition. Hannan Moti, Founder and CEO, will pitch iCodejr on stage to a panel of judges.

What is PITCH?

PITCH is Web Summit Qatar’s startup competition, run with Jusour. It’s open to exhibiting ALPHA and BETA startups that have raised less than €5 million and haven’t made a big change to their business model in the past three years. An independent panel of judges assesses every application, and only the shortlisted startups get to pitch on stage to investors, media and global partners.

Being picked is a big deal. Of the more than 1,500 startups expected in Doha, just 35 appear on Web Summit’s PITCH shortlist (see the shortlist). The shortlisted startups pitch in group rounds over the three days, and the best go through to a final on the Centre Stage.

In good company

The PITCH shortlist is truly international, with startups from places such as Nigeria, Türkiye, Germany, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Kenya and the UK. Eight of the 35 are from the UAE, and seven work in education, including iCodejr.

Why it matters for parents

Events like Web Summit are where investors, governments and big tech companies talk about where technology is heading. A place on the PITCH shortlist puts children’s education in front of that audience, next to fintech, health and climate startups. It also keeps our team close to the conversations that shape what your child will need to learn next.

It’s the same skill we ask of the children at Code Battle, our free inter-school hackathon: build something, then pitch it to the judges in a few minutes. In Doha, it’s our turn.

Where to find us

If you’re at Web Summit Qatar, come and say hello. You’ll find iCodejr on Sunday 23 February at ALPHA stand A606, in the Education area of the exhibition floor at DECC.
